Mickey baby quilt!

This morning, one of my favorite friends is having her sweet baby boy! I did this quilt for her sweet baby with Mickey Mouse fabrics I’ve had in my stash from a quilt I had made for my nephew nine years ago…can he really be turning 9 soon? It doesn’t seem possible!!! I’ll see if my sister-in-law can find the quilt and send me a picture of it so I can post it.


I traced the Mickey’s I used for my 6” blocks, and did a double batting style of trapunto on them so they’d pop out of the fabric. I just love MICKEY! The new baby receiving this has an older brother who is 3. Ethan just had his first trip to Disney Land. I wonder if I should make him a quilt so he doesn’t hijack this from his future baby brother…hmmm. Monica is one of my sweetest friends! It was such a joy to do this for her and her new little man! I can’t wait to meet this little fella. I’m sure he’s going to have dark hair like his momma and daddy, and probably gorgeous large dark eyes and long eyelashes like his older brother! I didn’t get to stay at the shower long enough to see her open her gift. I’m so bummed!
